WHY THIS WATCH MATTERS
The appeal starts with a very good vintage Seamaster reference: stainless steel, no date, clean silver dial and Omega’s caliber 552 automatic movement. The Türler signature adds the detail that separates this watch from the much larger pool of standard 165.002 examples.
It is not a different Omega model because Türler appears on the dial; it is a retailer-signed version of the same reference. That distinction matters. The value is in the surviving period configuration, not in exaggerating the retailer name beyond what the watch actually is.

The dial layout, applied furniture, handset, Omega signatures, Türler retailer signature, caliber 552 movement and reference 165.002 caseback are period-consistent from our inspection. The exact prior service history, crystal originality and crown originality are not represented as known.
THE STORY OF THIS WATCH
Most vintage Seamaster 165.002 examples tell the familiar story of Omega’s clean 1960s everyday automatic. This one carries a second name.
Türler was one of Switzerland’s important luxury watch and jewelry retailers, and period watches sold through the firm were sometimes signed on the dial alongside the manufacturer. That small retailer signature turns a familiar Seamaster into a more specific artifact of how fine watches were sold during the era.
REFERENCE & MODEL HISTORY
Reference 165.002 belongs to Omega’s mid-1960s no-date Seamaster family and is commonly paired with caliber 552. The reference is known for a compact approximately 34mm stainless-steel case, central seconds, acrylic crystal and the embossed Seamaster hippocampus caseback.
This example is especially notable for the period Türler double signature on the dial, a retailer-signed variation that appears far less often than standard Omega-only dials.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Omega introduced the Seamaster line in 1948 and developed it into one of the company’s longest-running families. By the 1960s, models such as the 165.002 combined durable automatic movements with understated cases suitable for everyday wear.
Caliber 552 is part of Omega’s respected 55x automatic family and uses 24 jewels with a full-rotor automatic winding system.
